Brief & Challenge

The assignment was to design a fictional express-delivery app within the UI Design course.

The goal was to create a high-fidelity prototype that communicates luxury, spontaneity, and ease of use, making high-quality food accessible within 10 minutes.

I chose to design for a 320px mobile screen, the smallest breakpoint, as a challenge to myself, thinking if the design works there, it can scale anywhere.

Target Group & Concept

The target group was defined as urban professionals with strong purchasing power, who value convenience but also like to indulge.

The name Quickie came to me early - a playful reference to speed, spontaneity, and indulgence, perfectly aligned with the brand’s promise of “spontaneous luxury on demand.

Process & Inspiration

I started by collecting visual inspiration from Michelin restaurants, premium food brands, and existing apps like Foodora and Mathem to understand how luxury is expressed visually.

  • Established a grid, spacing scale, and typography as the foundation.

  • Iterated on product cards to balance clarity, luxury, and playfulness.

  • Designed multiple layouts before selecting and refining the strongest ones.

  • Created a style guide with fonts, colors, and spacing tokens for consistency.

  • Worked on tone of voice and naming to strengthen the brand identity.

Key Learnings

The importance of starting with structure (wireframes, grids, spacing) before diving into visuals.

Designing for 320px forced me to prioritize and simplify, though in hindsight, starting with 375px would have given more flexibility.

Iterating on small components like product cards early saved time later in the process.

The Result
